The horse's head is one of the most complex & sensitive parts of the anatomy with neural, muscular and fascial connections to the rest of the body.  A poorly fitting or inappropriate bit and bridle can not only affect the horse's physical & mental well-being, but can also compromise their ability to perform.

We have long understood the importance of correct saddle fit, nutrition, dental care, hoof care, etc, but it is only comparatively recently the importance of appropriate bitting & bridle fit has been recognised.
